This 2 day course will cover how to make a simple metal base that doesn’t require welding; then how to build the core willow structure, through to adding the defining features and after care.

The Detail:

  • As we work with fresh willow our course season in short, running from January to March/ April.

  • Course numbers are limited to a maximum of 6 people (where 4 are required for the course to run).

  • The course runs over 2 days ( a consecutive Friday & Saturday 9am-4pm)

  • All materials are provided, however attendees may wish to bring their own cutters/ secateurs.

  • Tea/ coffee are provided, but attendees are required to bring their own lunch.

  • Courses are held in our Art Barn, this area is sealed from the weather but has no central heating (just a small log burner)… it’s a lovely creative environment, but you do need to wrap up extra warm.

  • We work with first grade black maul willow grown in Somerset, to ensure you will be working with the best product, from growers that are committed to growing a carbon neutral crop.
